We pledge to invest 10% of our profits in Jackson Parish and the surrounding areas to create opportunities for our customers and area citizens thus becoming a preferred banking partner.  

Pledge 10 seeks to promote four specific areas of focus within the bank’s geographic vicinity: Education, Youth Development, Financial Literacy, and Community Enrichment.  Pledge 10 is an expression of the promise we make to our customers and community.  Below are the grants awarded for Spring 2018.

Louisiana Cancer Foundation:  $2,500

Louisiana Cancer Foundation For Research and Education is a non profit organization that provides support services to Louisianaians diagnosed with cancer.  These funds enabled the Louisiana Cancer Foundation to provide transportation assistance to patients needing help getting to their treatment.  These funds supporting patients in Jackson, Winn, Bienville and Lincoln parishes. 

Mercy Medical Health Center:  $7,635

Mercy Medical Health Center is a Louisiana non-profit clinic providing medical services to the citizens of Jackson parish and the surround areas.  These funds are being used to purchase five new examination tables for each exam room.

Jackson Parish 4-H Foundation: $8,000

The Jackson Parish 4-H is delivered by the LSU AgCenter Cooperative Extension and provides experiences in which young people learn by doing.  These funds will be used to fund a week long leadership academy where teens will learn leadership skills as well as collaboration and teamwork. 

Bienville Family Clinic:  $7,500

The Bienville Family Clinic is a public Rural Health Clinic operated by the Bienville Parish Hospital.  Bienville Family Clinic was the first Rural Health Clinic in Louisiana, as well as one of the very first of its kind in the nation to connect a new technology interface called “Telehealth” to public schools.  Healthcare professionals can use this technology to care for patients in each of the rural schools without having to be present in the schools.  These funds are being used to purchase needed supplies to conduct diagnostic tests such as flu, mono, blood sugar, urine, etc.

Louisiana United Methodist Children’s Home:  $4,600

The Outdoor Wilderness Learning (OWL) Center is a program of Louisiana United Methodist Children and Family Services, Inc.  This is an 800-acre wilderness campus just 10 miles from Ruston, Louisiana.  OWL will use these funds to provide therapeutic equine riding lessons to differently abled children from Jackson and Lincoln parishes.  

National Alliance for Mentally Ill:  $3,000

NAMI Ruston is a 31-year-old nonprofit mental health organization striving to improve lives.  These funds will be used to host a law enforcement symposium to raise awareness among law enforcement from Jackson and Lincoln Parish on mental illness and how to interact with someone that may be suffering from an untreated mental illness.

Louisiana Delta Community College:  $7,500

Louisiana Delta Community College is a technical school currently offering welding, adult basic education, and general transferrable education courses.  These funds will be used to purchase needed equipment to expand the curriculum to include an Industrial Maintenance Technology program.  These funds will be used to purchase industrial training equipment and tool storage.

Bethel Christian School:  $5,000

Bethel Christian School is an accredited Christian school located in Ruston, Louisiana.  These funds will be used to purchase safe ground covering for the school’s playground and an outdoor water drinking fountain.

Village of North Hodge:  $3,000

These funds will be used in conjunction with other funds to outfit a donated piece of property in North Hodge with a public park.  The park will have a pavilion, grill, tables, basketball goal and paved court, and benches along a walking path.
