2023 Spring Grants Awarded

2023 Spring Grants Awarded

Jonesboro State Bank pledges to invest 10% of our profits in Jackson Parish and the surrounding areas to create opportunities for our customers and area citizens thus becoming a preferred banking partner.

Pledge 10 grants totaling $48,810 were awarded during the spring 2023 grant cycle to the following organizations and agencies:

Jackson Parish Ambulance District: $10,000

The Jackson Parish Ambulance will use these funds to integrate virtual reality software into their education program to allow more realistic training in the class setting.  Virtual reality training allows EMS providers and trainers the ability to experience real life training without real life consequences.  Patient experiences can be changed to allow for dynamic and realistic training to better prepare our local emergency personnel and ultimately protect the members of our community.  We are thrilled to partner with the Ambulance District on this education upgrade!

Jonesboro-Hodge High School: $4,960

The Jonesboro-Hodge High School will use these funds to help make drainage and dirt work improvements to the high school’s baseball field.  These improvements will reduce rain delays and game suspensions due to inclement weather and make for a safer more enjoyable baseball experience for our student athletes.  Beyond these improvements, the baseball program is buying new equipment and jerseys.  Good luck this season J-H Tigers!

Jonesboro-Hodge High School: $9,000

The Jonesboro-Hodge Ag Department will use these funds to teach students about horticulture and landscaping techniques through landscaping improvements around campus.  These funds will provide bed preparation, plants, birdfeeders, birdbaths, and other landscaping materials.  Students will maintain and cultivate the landscaping improvements to learn about plant maintenance and gardening.  While students are learning important life skills, they will also be actively improving the school’s image increasing student pride.  We can’t wait to see the improvements!

Louisiana United Methodist Children and Family Service, Inc.: $8,850

These funds will be used to provide two weeks of day camp for youth in the foster care system.  The camp’s focus will be to promote a sense of normalcy and encourage development of social and emotional competency through experiential learning.  This program will provide a week of encouragement and fun for children in the foster care system.  We hope your camp goes well!  Good luck!

Lincoln Parish Park: $5,000

The Lincoln Parish Park hosts an annual fall festival.  The festival is a family friendly event with live entertainment, food trucks, and all sorts of other family friendly activities.  These funds will be used to purchase books to be given away at the festival as well as face painting stations, jump houses, T-shirts, and sound equipment rental.  This festival is a highly anticipated fun event for the Lincoln Parish Park and we are happy to be a part of the fall festivities!

North Louisiana Farm Fresh: $3,000

North Louisiana Farm Fresh has operates the Ruston Farmers Market.  These funds will be used to provide a “Youth Booth” for young farmers, ranchers, and other young entrepreneurs who have an interest in selling products at the Ruston Farmers Market.  Vendors pay booth fees to set up at the Ruston Farmer’s Market.  These funds will pay booth rent for an entire year from May 2023 to April 2024.   The goal is to encourage young vendors and provide an open door for the young members of our community that are looking to get involved with the Ruston Farmer’s Market.  Beyond booth rent, funds will be used to promote the Farmer’s Market and create custom shirts, stickers, and other promotional materials for the “Youth Booth.”  This is a great opportunity for our young people to get involved and we are so excited to introduce eager young vendors to the wonderful things happening at the Ruston Farmer’s Market.

Ward Seven Fire Protection District of Bienville Parish: $8,000

The Fire Protection District will use these funds to equip their trucks with thermal imaging cameras.  Thermal imaging cameras are used in a variety of different scenarios from search and rescue, traffic accidents, and fire scenes.  These cameras allow firefighters to see at night and track heat signatures which allows fire fighters the ability to detect heat and fire behind doors, between floors and under houses.  Equipping the trucks with this equipment will allow the emergency responders at Ward Seven Fire Protection District to better protect and serve their community.  We thank you for your hard work and service and hope these cameras help you in your mission to provide fire protection and emergency medical services to southeastern Bienville Parish.
