2023 Fall Grants Awarded

2023 Fall Grants Awarded

At Jonesboro State Bank, we understand the importance of giving back.  That is why we donate 10% of our profits back into our local communities.  It's our promise.  It's our pledge.  We call it Pledge 10.

Pledge 10 grants totaling $49,964 were awarded during the fall 2023 grant cycle to the following organizations and agencies:

I. A Lewis School: $9,000

The school will use this grant to fund the acquisition of new playground equipment, enhancing the school's recreational facilities and promoting physical activity and social interaction among its students.

The Well of North Louisiana: $7,500

The Well is on a mission to offer everyone in our city access to a restored life through relationships, and resources- providing a full continuum of care for people in our community who have intersected with the foster care system or have experienced family separation and/or family trauma.  This Pledge 10 grant will be used for the pantry at The LoveWellto expand the inventory and keep a well stocked pantry for community members.

Volunteers for Youth Justice: $8,500

With this grant, Volunteers for Youth Justice are now able to procure new equipment, upgrade furniture, and enhance the refrigerator, creating a revitalized meeting room environment. This transformation will not be merely cosmetic; it will equip CASA advocates with the essential tools needed for productive meetings and training sessions. The upgraded space will also serve as a secure haven for foster parents to bring children for visitations, amplifying our impact within the community.

Weston High School: $5,464

This grant will allow the school to develop a sensory room that can be used by multi-handicapped special education students and all students in the school when needed.

The sensory room will offer a therapeutic space for children with autism and other special needs. Equipment for this room will be used to improve a variety of physical and cognitive skills.

5 Loaves: 2 Fish Ministry: $6,000

2 Fish is a ministry that moves throughout Lincoln Parish to host healthy nutritious meals for those in need. Through the Pledge 10 Grant from Jonesboro State Bank, 5 Loaves: 2 Fish Ministry will be able to start serving meals in low-income areas. Anyone that comes and wants a meal will be served. Meals consist of a main dish, side dish, roll, dessert, and bottled water.

Lincoln 4-H Foundation: $6,000

The foundation will use this grant to start the air rifle discipline with the Shooting sports program to involve more youth that may not fit the other shooting sports discipline.

Quitman High School: $5,000

These funds will be used towards the purchase of a new backstop for the softball field.

Ross Lynn Charitable Foundation, Inc.: $2,500

RLCF will use this grant to fund the 4-H Discovery Club, an art experience for Lincoln Parish 4-H students.
